We focus on applications that could be a direct translation of a printed book; for an example, a hide and seek popup game would be a good candidate, because this type of book is also available in print. A travel guide application, a cookbook or anything else that uses interactivity to enhance the reading experience is a good candidate for review on our site.

What is an interactive Ebook

More than an eBook, an Interactive eBook (ieBook) is a complete multimedia experience, mostly read on a tablet computer (such as an iPad or Motorola Xoom), which would allow the reader/user to interact with the storyline in sound, sight, and touch.

Unlike electronic books where user interaction is limited to a page flip or a word search, an Interactive eBook engages the user to “play along” and creates an experience beyond the printed format. For example, a cookbook could have a timer to indicate to the reader following a recipe when a dish is ready; or a children’s book may allow the user to interact with the storyline by moving the characters on the page by touching the screen.
